UASIN GISHU STUDENT ELECTED DEPUTY GOVERNOR FOR DEVOLUTION CONFERENCE

Grace Nabiswa, a student from Moi Girls High School-Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County has been elected as a Deputy Governor for the Children Devolution Conference.

The election was held on the sidelines of the ongoing conference in Kiambu County.

Abel Kulabo from a special need school in Kericho County was elected as the Governor.

The elected officials will read the resolutions reached from the children’s conference during the main Devolution conference which will be held in Uasin Gishu in August.

County Executive Committee Member for Education Dr. Janeth Kosgei had encouraged students to participate in leadership positions and indeed Grace Nabiswa got it right. ‘

Congratulations our champion” She applauded the election of Grace into the children’s caucus leadership.

He further noted that so far, the Children’s Devolution Conference has been successful.

“The conference has given children the platform to share their thoughts on the Devolution for leaders to get valuable feedback from them about the performance and how to serve the people better,” Dr. Kosgei said.

Director for Education Dr. Shadrack Morogo who also attended the conference says there need to give children a voice in decision-making which affect their life positively.

Students from Moi Girls High Eldoret, Wareng High School, University Eldoret Primary School, Hills schools Primary and Eldoret School for the Mentally Challenged, from Uasin Gishu County participated in this year’s Children Devolution Conference.
