UASIN GISHU COUNTY LAUNCHES DEVELOPMENT OF 2024 COUNTY STATISTICAL ABSTRACT TO ENHANCE POLICY FORMULATION AND PLANNING

In a move to promote effective policy formulation and planning, the County Government of Uasin Gishu, through the Department of Finance and Economic Planning, has officially launched the development of the Uasin Gishu County Statistical Abstract 2024. This significant step was announced on Friday.

The County Statistical Abstract (CSA) serves as a comprehensive compilation of key statistics relating to the social, political, and economic aspects of the county. It plays a crucial role in providing reliable and up-to-date statistical information for policymakers and planners. By offering a reliable source of data, the CSA supports evidence-based decision-making and helps guide the development of effective policies.

Speaking during the event, County Executive for Finance and Economic Planning, Mr. Micah Rogony, expressed his commitment to ensuring the timely production of all required data and his office’s full support for the production of the CSA 2024.

Mr Rogony emphasized the importance of departments providing the necessary data and information, as it will enhance policy formulation, planning, budgeting, and monitoring and evaluation at the county level.

“The development of the Uasin Gishu County Statistical Abstract 2024 marks a significant milestone towards enhancing the County’s Governance, development, and overall progress,” Said CECM.

County Commissioner, Dr. Edison Nyale, emphasized the importance of fostering partnerships and collaboration between the two levels of government to achieve shared prosperity for the County.

Kenya National Bureau of Statistics’ Director for Statistical Coordination and Methods, Mr. Benjamin Avusevwa, assured Uasin Gishu County of their support throughout the entire preparation process of the County Statistical Abstract (CSA) 2024.

He expressed gratitude to the County for including KNBS as part of the technical team responsible for spearheading the preparation of the document.

County officials, including CECMs, Chief Officers led by Eliud Chemaget (Finance), and CPA Victorine Kapkiai (Economic Planning) Directors and Deputy directors were in attendance at the meeting.
