Clients undergoing treatment at the Uasin Gishu County Rehabilitation and Treatment Centre(Moiben) on Friday visited the Chebororwa Agricultural Training Centre (ATC) as part of efforts to expose them to practical economic skills that can support their reintegration into society.
The visit, conducted by the Directorate of Alcoholic Drinks Control Board (ADCB), provided the clients with an opportunity to learn various livelihood activities, including dairy farming, coffee farming, and agricultural mechanization.
During the tour of the training facility, the clients were taken through demonstrations on how different farm machines operate, including tractors and other mechanized equipment used in modern farming. They were also encouraged to consider acquiring portable equipment, such as welding machines, that could help them generate income once they complete their rehabilitation programmes.

While representing ADCB Director Koiya Arap Maiyo, the facility incharge Carolyn Cheboi, said the exposure was part of the directorate’s broader strategy to equip recovering clients with practical skills that can enable them to rebuild their lives through productive economic activities.
Cheboi noted that with the support of Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii, Chebororwo ATC has significantly transformed into a key learning centre for coffee and dairy farming, offering hands-on training to farmers and community members across the county.
The Chebororwa ATC manager, Amos Tulus, urged the clients to embrace agriculture and technical skills as viable sources of livelihood, noting that farming and related enterprises can provide sustainable income and help them remain focused as they rebuild their lives after rehabilitation.
