County Executive Committee Member for Public Service Administration and Devolved Units Eng. Joseph Lagat on Monday led officials in inspecting the construction site for a new office complex in Eldoret City.
Accompanied by Chief Officers Ruth Samoei (PSM) and Mr. Nickson Cheplong (Economic Planning, the team visited the site where a rock blasting was undertaken on Sunday.
During the inspection, Eng Lagat confirmed that the blasting was undertaken in a controlled manner and that there were no effects on the surroundings.
“We were very keen on controlled blasting, and we can confirm that the blasting did not affect the surroundings,” said Eng Lagat.
Eng Lagat noted that the complex will have space for youth to undertake their arts, as envisaged by Governor Dr Jonathan Bii’s pillar of youth empowerment. “It will also have very nice amenities for our youth to do their arts as well as acquire technological skills through the library space.”

The rock blasting was undertaken to pave the way for the next phase of construction, including an underground parking space.
Ms. Samoei commended the engineering team for observing strict safety measures during the blasting of a large rock located at the center of the foundation.
The County officials expressed optimism that construction will proceed swiftly to meet the planned timeline.
Once completed, the facility is expected to provide a modern and efficient working environment for the offices and a general complex for youth activities.
The project will also include a modern library, aimed at supporting education within the community.
The facility will also provide access to technology and information resources, promote a reading culture, and serve as a learning hub for residents across the county.
Directors Samwel Kiptoo (Administration) and Silas Tarus (Communication) were also in the company.
