MUNICIPALITY, DEPARTMENT OF CO-OPERATIVES AND SAFARICOM LTD TRAINS THE BODABODA ON SAFETY

Ahead of the festivity season,the County Government of Uasin Gishu, Department of Trade of Co-operatives and Enterprise Development in Collaboration with Safricom Limited organised for a training for Several Bodaboda Saccos at the Municipality Social Hall.

This is In line with the Governor Bii’s Nguzo Kumi on strengthening the Co-operatives and empowering the Bodaboda.

Gracing the occasion, Municipality Manager Tito Koiyet commended the unity of purpose,” it’s a good gesture to have riders get some training,this will help you to handle your clients with dignity and respect,and with this training I know you will provide better services” said Tito.

“Riding is a very sensitive act and needs extra care, ensure you put on the best protective and safety gears all the time, also give time to your loved ones back home so that you don’t become a servant to your family always looking for money for them but you don’t give time to them” added the Manager.

On his part, Shadrack Rotich, a Co-operatives officer encouraged the Sacco Members to save on their Saccos, ” I want to appeal to Saaco members to save and later borrow to help you sort your financial obligations like the back to school that is ahead of us,” said Shadrack.

“Safaricon is your partner,your clients can pay you through the Pochi platform to avoid the cases of reversals and imemezwa na fuliza,we have you at heart!”said Brenda from Safaricon.

The training was conducted by trainers from Red Cross Kenya on various aspects such as the First Aid, Accident handling,fire emergencies, Robbery response among other essential information.

Several Bodaboda Saccos including Mwakamo,Kibagenge,Turbo,Kesses,Soy,Tairi Mbili among others received the training.
