MOIBEN WARD WATER PROJECTS SET TO EASE LONG-STANDING WATER CHALLENGES

Residents of Moiben Ward are set to benefit from improved access to clean and reliable water following the handover of two water projects to contractors.

The projects, located in Kabatu and Sesia, are part of ongoing efforts to address the long-standing water challenges experienced by households and communities across Moiben Sub-County.

The development gives practical meaning to the “Mache Biko Beko” slogan associated with Moiben, as investments in water infrastructure continue to translate into tangible services for residents.

Kabatu Water Project
The Kabatu Water Project will involve the construction of a comprehensive water supply system, including:
An intake sump
A solar-powered pumping system
A 10-cubic-metre elevated storage tank
A pumping main
Distribution pipelines
Communal water points

The project is expected to improve water access for residents by providing a more reliable and sustainable water supply system.

Sesia Water Project
At Sesia, the scope of works will focus on the construction of distribution pipelines and communal water points, extending access to water closer to households and communities.

Speaking during the site handover, Engineers Noah Kebenei and Boaz Korellach assured residents that the projects would be implemented to the required standards.

The engineers also pledged to make regular site visits to monitor progress, ensure quality workmanship and fast-track construction so that residents can begin benefiting from the projects as soon as possible.

Also present was Moiben Ward/Sub-County Administrator Obat Tanui, who urged residents to cooperate with the contractors and relevant officials to ensure smooth implementation of the projects.

Tanui called on residents to remain patient and supportive as they await the completion of the works and the delivery of a more reliable water supply.

The two projects are part of broader efforts under Nguzo Number 7 — Service Delivery, with more households and communities across Uasin Gishu County expected to benefit from ongoing development projects.

With the implementation of the Moiben water projects, the county’s commitment to improving access to essential services is increasingly taking shape, bringing hope to communities that have endured water shortages for years.
