Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii has rallied the players in the commercial agricultural business to form or join existing cooperative societies for them to access government funding and other opportunities that these entities benefit from.
Speaking on Monday in Kiplombe ward during the merging of 24 poultry farming groups into a cooperative society, Governor Bii emphasized on the need to commercialize poultry keeping.
He challenged the society members to observe integrity and and issues of governance assuring them of his administrations commitment to supporting them with the county enterprise development fund to further boost their business.










And as the cooperatives are readying themselves to meet the growing poultry needs of our city,plans are also underway to establish a poultry slaughterhouse in Kimumu, which will provide a crucial market solution and enhance value for these farmers.
County Executive for Trade and Cooperatives Martha Cheruto said the upcoming County Aggregation and Industrial Park(CAIP) in Moiben necessitates the bulking and market not only for their members’ produce but also products of other farmers.
CECM for Agriculture Edward Sawe on his part urged them to embrace NAVCDP saying the program is one of the value chains.
Kiplombe Poultry Farmers Cooperative Society which boasts of 315 members already is a beneficiary of 10 incubators with a capacity of 262 from the county government.
Uasin Gishu County Assembly Deputy Speaker Hon Sara Malel, Area MCA Hon Gilbert Lagat, Chief Officer for Cooperatives Ruth Samoei were among present.
