EDUCATION CHIEF OFFICER EMPHASIZES THE NEED FOR QUALITY EDUCATION IN ECDEs

Chief Officer for Education Marion Birgen on Thursday emphasized the need for ECDE teachers to provide quality service to pupils.

This, the CO said can be achieved through proper preparation in lesson teaching, planning and development.

Speaking during a cluster meeting with over 250 ECDE teachers from Kesses Sub-County, CO Marion said quality teaching entails effective learning methods that help a learner to think, solve problems and also offer lifelong learning skills.

“Quality education places a child at the centre of learning and enhances their growth wholly,” said the Chief officer.

Director for Administration, Wilson Sawe, on his part, affirmed the County’s effort to create an impact on ECDE teachings.

“We want to experience the changes where children in Pre-Primary 2 can express themselves with confidence and speak English fluently,” said Sawe.

Sharon Amai, a quality assurance officer, and Dorcas Komen Education officer accompanied the Chief Officer.
