Among the key developments are 220 housing units in Kidiwa, 2,260 units in Pioneer, 205 units in AMS, and 2,200 units in Eldoret Railway City which will not only provide shelter but also create job opportunities for the youth.

He remarked, “We are actively working to ensure our residents benefit from improved infrastructure, including upgraded roads, drainage, sewerage, and enhanced security.”

Additionally, the administration is addressing land ownership security through comprehensive surveys which is in line with Nguzo number eight.

“We are currently conducting a comprehensive land survey in Kesses and planned trading centers in Maanzini, as well as nine farms,” he stated.

This initiative aims to facilitate land title issuance, providing residents with security and unlocking economic opportunities.

Healthcare has also seen significant investment, with the governor reporting the distribution of Ksh 43 million worth of medical supplies from KEMSA to all 138 health facilities in the county.

On the agricultural front, the administration is conducting a mass vaccination drive against Foot and Mouth disease and rabies, while also distributing sunflower and pyrethrum seedlings to farmers.

“In line with our diversification plans, we are currently distributing sunflower and pyrethrum seedlings, with a particular emphasis on horticultural crops such as coffee, avocado, and macadamia among others that have a readily available market,” the governor added.

Efforts to enhance dairy production include the recharging of 166 cattle dips to combat tick-borne diseases.

In education, the governor announced that the administration has focused on improving Early Childhood Education by hiring additional teachers to ensure a favorable student-teacher ratio and enhancing the quality of skills training at 13 Vocational Training Centres.

Dr. Bii also highlighted the importance of youth empowerment initiatives, such as the Governor’s Cup, which promotes sports talent among the youth.

The county recently hosted the 2024 CAC African Road Cycling Championship, benefiting local businesses and tourism.
