CHIEF OFFICER CLINICAL SERVICES SUPERVISES PILOTING OF DRONE TECHNOLOGY AT HURUMA SUB COUNTY HOSPITAL

As the County continues to improve the timely response of diagnostics and reduce residents’ waiting time, Clinical Services Chief Officer Dr. Joyce Sang on Monday supervised the piloting of a drone at Huruma Sub County Hospital.

The drone technology will enhance medical service efficiency in the County by revolutionizing the healthcare sector, especially in rural areas with limited access to medical facilities.

Dr. Sang emphasized the importance of reducing waiting time for residents, as delays in receiving diagnostic results can have consequences for patients’ health.

“By utilizing drones to transport samples and test results between hospitals and laboratories, the county hopes to expedite the diagnostic process and improve overall patient care.

…this seamless transfer of samples not only saves time but also ensures the integrity of the specimen, as it eliminates the risk of contamination or mishandling during transportation,” said Dr. Sang.

The use of drones in healthcare is not only limited to diagnostics but also extends to emergencies in cases where urgent medical supplies or equipment are required, drones can swiftly transport them to the desired location, potentially saving lives in the process.
