The Department of Public Service Management is mandated to play a strategic role in shaping and promoting employee wellness within the County Government, in line with the Nguzo Kumi Manifesto.
Speaking during a wellness meeting for executive staff members at an Eldoret hotel, Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii reiterated that his administration is committed to ensuring staff continue to enjoy exceptional services that boost morale and enhance service delivery.
“We are among the few counties that have insured staff against work-related injuries through WIBA Insurance and also procured Group Life Insurance to compensate in the event of an employee’s death. A healthy and motivated workforce is key to our success,” stated Governor Dr. Bii.

He further emphasized the importance of employee training on medical insurance:
“Training on medical insurance is essential to help staff understand the benefits of AAR Insurance, make informed decisions, and feel confident about their healthcare options.”
Deputy Governor H.E. Evans Kapkea noted that good health is essential for families, financial security, and workplace productivity, adding that Uasin Gishu residents will ultimately feel the impact through improved service delivery.
County Executive Committee Member for Public Service Management, Administration and Devolution, Janet Kurgat, lauded Governor Dr. Bii for investing in a Tier-One insurance cover a game-changer in the public sector. She explained that this cover allows staff and their families to access quality healthcare services without financial strain, in addition to providing a counseling unit to address mental health challenges affecting both staff and their families.
“We are moving forward motivated and united. Let staff work, let staff be happy — we are putting them first. Service to humanity starts here,” said Kurgat.
All CECMs, the County Attorney, City Manager, Chief Officers, Chief of Staff, County Solicitor, and all members of the County Public Service Board were present.
