The County Government of Uasin Gishu marked yet another climax of the International Nurses Week celebrations with a heartfelt tribute to nurses at Huruma Sub-County Hospital, where Health Services County Executive Janet Kurgat, accompanied by Clinical Services Chief Officer Ambrose Tarus, led hospital staff in recognizing the dedication and sacrifice of frontline caregivers.
Speaking during the celebrations, Kurgat applauded nurses for their unwavering commitment to patient care, describing them as the backbone of the healthcare system whose efforts continue to save lives and restore hope to families across the County.





She noted that nurses remain at the center of healthcare delivery, often working under immense pressure and attending to patients during their most vulnerable and difficult moments.
Clinical Services Chief Officer Ambrose Tarus also commended the nurses for their dedication and resilience, saying their commitment continues to play a major role in improving healthcare outcomes within the county.
Tarus encouraged the healthcare workers to continue embracing teamwork, professionalism, and compassion while serving patients, noting that the county government remains committed to supporting healthcare workers and strengthening service delivery in health facilities.
The county health leadership further assured nurses of continued support in improving working conditions and enhancing healthcare services in public hospitals across the county.

Huruma sub-county hospital manager Richard Cheserek acknowledged the vital role nurses play in promoting community health, offering emotional support to patients, and ensuring continuity of care in hospitals and health centres across the county.
