The County Government of Uasin Gishu has officially flagged off the “Leseni Mashinani” initiative, a grassroots revenue mobilization campaign aimed at enhancing service delivery and strengthening engagement between the county government and residents.
The launch was held at Uasin Gishu Service Center, presided over by the County Executive Committee Member for Roads and Public Works, Dr. Abraham Serem, who represented Governor Jonathan Bii.
Dr. Serem described the occasion as a significant milestone in the county’s development agenda.
“This initiative positions us as the nerve center of transformative service delivery. ‘Leseni Mashinani’ is not just a program it is the key to unlocking sustainable local revenue,” he said.
Dr. Serem emphasized that the county government, under Governor Bii’s leadership, is committed to public participation and inclusive governance, noting that the initiative brings services closer to the people.
County Executive Committee Member for Finance and Economic Planning, Micah Rogony, lauded the efforts of the implementation team and underscored the importance of the exercise.


“As a County, we appreciate the good work the team has done so far. This is a major undertaking with far-reaching implications on how we engage and relate with our clients. Its success will define how effectively we deliver services,” said Rogony.
He also commended ward administrators for their leadership and coordination, noting that the initiative’s trajectory is already promising. Rogony reiterated the county’s commitment to completing ongoing and previously initiated development projects.
Director of Revenue, Stephen Chebwai, called for a strong start to the exercise, urging all stakeholders to remain focused and committed.
“We must commence this exercise on a high note. ‘Leseni Mashinani’ is now officially underway in Turbo Sub-County, covering areas such as Juakali, Turbo, Lumakanda, Kipkaren River, Musembe, and Kamagut,” he announced.






Echoing the call for excellence, Director of Finance Martin Mutai challenged the team to exceed expectations.
“We should not just meet our targets—we must surpass them,” Mutai stated.
The “Leseni Mashinani” initiative is expected to streamline revenue collection, improve compliance, and foster closer collaboration between the county government and local communities.
In attendance were Peter Ng’etich (Director of Compliance), Shadrack Rono (Director of Licensing), and several Ward Administrators.
