CLINICAL DEPARTMENT TAKES TOP HONOURS AS UASIN GISHU COUNTY HOSPITAL CELEBRATES EXCELLENCE AT END-YEAR GALA

The Clinical Department has emerged as the Best Coordinated Department at Uasin Gishu County Hospital following a colourful end-year staff gala that celebrated excellence, teamwork, and dedication to service.

Speaking during the awards ceremony, Chief Officer for Clinical Services Ambrose Tarus announced that the Laboratory Department was named the Best Department in Revenue Collection, underscoring its efficiency and critical role in supporting clinical decision-making. The Administration Department was also recognised as the Most Improved Department, marking a year of notable progress in systems strengthening and service delivery.

In other categories, the Pharmacy Department was named Second Runners-Up in Revenue Collection, while the Nursing Department secured the Second Runners-Up position in Coordination, highlighting the indispensable role nurses continue to play in patient care and interdepartmental collaboration.

Mr Tarus commended staff for their commitment and resilience throughout the year, noting that the awards went beyond trophies and certificates to reinforce a culture of excellence, accountability, and teamwork within the hospital.

“This recognition reflects the collective effort of our teams who continue to go above and beyond to deliver quality, patient-centred care. Every department plays a critical role, and tonight we celebrate those who have set the pace,” he said.

Certificates of excellence were also awarded to outstanding staff members across departments, including Beatrice Chelimo (Clinical), Cyprus Koech (Pharmacy), Hillary Biwott (Administration), Silas Chemosi (Nursing), Dr Faith Chemose (Dental), Dr Christopher Kemboi and Dr Johnson Choge (Medical), Paul Limo and Alice Kipyego (Public Health), Mercy Jepkoech (Procurement), Joan Chepleting (Rehabilitation), Damaris Omwega (Orthopedic Trauma), Emmanuel Kipkemboi (SHA), Josphat Tum (Security), Julius Kimeli (Support Staff), and Juliet Nyanyuu (Social Work).

The end-year celebration provided an opportunity to reflect on achievements made in 2025 while setting a renewed tone for excellence as Uasin Gishu County Hospital looks ahead to an even more impactful year in service delivery.
