The Department of Public Service Management on Friday held an Industrial Attaches Induction Forum that brought together 600 participants from 83 institutions, in a move aimed at preparing young professionals for public service.
The forum focused on orienting the attaches on core public service values, including communication protocols, confidentiality, time management and excellence in service delivery, while outlining expectations for the duration of their industrial attachment.

Addressing the forum, County Executive Committee Member for Public Service Management Eng. Joseph Lagat assured the attaches of the county government’s commitment to their professional development, noting that support systems had been put in place to guide and empower them throughout the attachment period.
Chief Officer for Public Service Management Ruth Samoei welcomed the attaches and commended them for choosing to undertake their industrial training with the county government. She urged them to adopt a results-oriented mindset and strive for excellence in service delivery, adding that the county is committed to exceeding public expectations.

CO Samoei encouraged the attaches to familiarize themselves with the Constitution of Kenya, deliberately build their personal and professional brands, and consistently meet and surpass performance expectations.
She also called on them to align their work ethic and conduct with Governor Chelilim Bii’s Nguzo Kumi development agenda.
The forum also featured presentations by departmental directors, who emphasized professionalism, understanding government structures and leadership hierarchy, adherence to official dress codes, effective time management and strict observance of confidentiality as the attaches begin their industrial attachment.
