The County Government of Uasin Gishu has called on parents and teachers to embrace the Maziwa ni School fees initiative to see the community grow both in agriculture and education.
The program, which is the brainchild of Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii, was launched on Friday at Tuiyo Secondary School.
Speaking on Saturday during Noble Sacco’s annual delegate conference celebration held in Eldoret, County Executive for Trade and Cooperatives, Martha Cheruto, said literacy levels in the county will go up once the program is fully optimized by the players.
“Cooperative societies build a better world. We recognize your strides in building the economies of your members by encouraging them to continuously save for a better tomorrow,” said Cheruto

CEO Cooperatives Alliance of Kenya(CAK) Daniel Marube challenged the members to own the society and be committed to it fully.
“As delegates, you have the responsibility of ensuring that you recruit new members into the Sacco to enable the Sacco to develop and be sustainable. Let’s also save more, take loans to invest and multiply our wealth”
“…Sacrifice today to enjoy the future of tomorrow by investing in society.
Increase your core capital to grow the Sacco to be able to attract members from the diaspora, ” noted Marube
Directors Drucilla Cherogony(Cooperatives), Kipleting Mengich(Enterprise), Samuel Wambugu(Co-op Audit), and Cooperative officers were among the present.
