Plans are afoot for the County Government of Uasin Gishu to undertake regular training for the county inspectorate as a way to inject efficiency and professionalism in service.
This is in line with Governor Dr Jonathan Bii’s vision of maintaining a safer and more prosperous County within and beyond.
Dr. Bii on Friday held a meeting with the county’s inspectorate officers, emphasizing the need for a positive impact on the County’s image, particularly in interactions with the business community.

The County Boss highlighted the significance of projecting a professional and disciplined image as the County continues to grow and benchmark itself against other leading counties in Kenya.

During the meeting, Dr. Bii stressed the importance of recognizing the city’s status and the responsibilities that come with it.
“We must remind ourselves that we are a city, and the way we present ourselves matters,” he stated. He urged the officers to reflect on how they communicate with the public and to ensure that their conduct fosters trust and cooperation, particularly with the business sector.
He noted that Uasin Gishu has become a model for other counties, with many admiring its progress and the number of high-profile delegates it has hosted.
On matters of discipline, the Governor called on the purpose of maintaining a strong, positive image for the county.
“I call for a balanced approach that prioritizes human interaction and interpersonal relationships, especially with the business community. “We need all communities to be represented within the force,” he added, emphasizing the need for inclusivity and diversity.

Dr. Bii called for an improvement in the way officers engage with the public, highlighting the need to instil good character and avoid actions that could tarnish their reputation.
The Governor also addressed concerns about cases of brutality, urging officers to build positive relationships with the business community as a key priority.
The Governor said the inspectorate’s mobility will be improved through the allocation of more vehicles, saying this will make the service more efficient and responsive.
Further, Dr. Bii emphasized the importance of ongoing training and capacity building as essential components of a disciplined force.
“I encourage you to take pride in your work and to engage in cross-training opportunities that would benefit your professional growth. Promotion and allowances are part of the efforts to motivate and support you”, ” he said.
“When we come together and share our challenges, we become stronger as a family,” Dr. Bii remarked.
