DR BII RECEIVES KSH 37 MILLION WORTH OF DRUGS FOR SUPPLY TO HEALTH FACILITIES

To prioritize the health of its residents, Governor Dr Jonathan Bii on Monday morning flagged off a substantial shipment of drugs worth Ksh 37 million to all the 138 health facilities to guarantee a sufficient supply of medications in healthcare facilities across the County thus ensuring that residents have access to essential pharmaceuticals.

Speaking during the flagging off at the County Headquarters, Dr. Bii highlighted that the procurement of the drugs directly from the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) to the facilities aims to streamline the supply chain and eliminate delays, thereby enhancing efficiency in the distribution of medications.

“My administration has laid down prompt healthcare services which has actively engaged in efforts to attract investors and facilitate other Counties benchmarking with us therefore ensuring the enhancement of the healthcare system and improving service delivery,” said Dr Bii

Health Services County Executive Dr Abraham Serem emphasized the significance of the launch of seven trucks carrying drugs valued at 37 million to all sub-counties.

“This bold move signifies a strategic approach to ensuring that essential medicines reach health facilities promptly, catering to the healthcare needs of residents and fortifying the capacity of the facilities to provide quality medical services,” said Dr Serem.

By prioritizing the availability of drugs in healthcare settings, Governor Dr Bii’s administration demonstrates a steadfast commitment to promoting well-being and ensuring that residents have access to the necessary medications for their healthcare needs for efficient supply chain management and strategic initiatives to enhance the healthcare system.
