Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor Evans Kapkea on Wednesday hosted the newly appointed Deputy Auditor-General, Moses Mulonzia, and a team of auditors currently in the county for the ongoing audit exercise.
The Deputy Governor welcomed the audit team to the City of Champions and reaffirmed Uasin Gishu County Government’s commitment to maintaining a strong and productive partnership with the Office of the Auditor-General in promoting transparency, accountability, and effective public service delivery.









Finance and Economic Planning CECM Micah Rogony assured the audit team of the county’s full cooperation and support throughout the audit process.
During the meeting, Mr. Mulonzia underscored the importance of the strategic collaboration between the county and the Office of the Auditor-General, noting that continuous engagement is crucial in strengthening accountability, prudent management of public resources, and enhancing service delivery.
He also emphasized the need to align county initiatives with the national government’s economic transformation agenda, particularly in the areas of Universal Health Coverage and affordable housing.
Finance Chief Officer Eliud Kipkorir, committed to ensuring that all required audit reports and supporting documentation are submitted by 31st July to facilitate a smooth and timely audit process.
Also present during the meeting were Chief Officer for Economic Planning Nixon Cheplong, Director of Accounting Services Martin Mutai, Director of Internal Audit Priscilla Koech, Assistant Director of Risk Management John Tarus, and Assistant Director of Internal Audit Lizzy Lelei.
