WE WANT TO SEE ENHANCED SERVICE DELIVERY THROUGH NGUZO KUMI BLUEPRINT:ENG. BAROROT

Deputy Governor H.E Eng. John Barorot on Wednesday together with the County Secretary Mr. Edwin Bett, joined the Department of Lands, Physical Planning, Housing and Urban Development Staff in a meeting where they discussed matters of service delivery and strategies in the realization of the Nguzo Kumi blueprint.

While noting the enhancement of services to achieve its mandate, Eng. Barorot said that the County is in the process of taking up digital transformation agenda to the next level.

“With the introduction of SISIBO Pay, County revenue collection is enhanced to maximize collections in Land rates, business licensing, plan approvals, and parking among other revenue streams,” said Barorot.

He further said: “We are becoming a city very soon. H.E. the Governor is finalizing the process currently and we expect the city status charter signing by the president anytime from now. This calls for all staff charged with street cleaning to ensure that our streets are clean and safe”

County Secretary Mr. Edwin Bett, noted that the Department is key and charged with major projects being implemented hence performance by staff is very important.

“We have identified that officers are working hard and we urge you to continually continue giving your best at all times for the benefit of our county” added Bett.

CECM Dr. Janeth Kosgei said that major projects undertaken in the Department include:- the Affordable Housing Programme, KUSP, KISIP and the upcoming city status that is at a very advanced stage challenging staff to gauge their expertise and see if they meet their set targets to ensure that services are delivered.

“We are soon launching the Department’s service charter and everyone needs to sign their performance contracts to create our brand and enhance our roles as professionals,” said Kosgei.

Chair Municipality Board Mr. Julius Kitur, noted that solid waste management is an essential service that cannot be overlooked and all officers must ensure that the City is clean to attract investors.

Mr. Nathan Korir Chief Officer Lands and Physical Planning, Municipality Manager Mr.Tito Koiyet, Directors Jacktone Kiprop, Nelly Jerotich, and Beatrice Menjo were among other senior officers present.
