WE ARE READY TO CAPITALIZE ON OPPORTUNITIES COMING ALONG WITH THE BUSINESS PARK – GOVERNOR BII

Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii has assured investors that the upcoming County Industrial Park will add to a pot full of investment opportunities plentiful in Eldoret – the North Rift region’s economic nerve.

The Governor assures of his maximum support for the project to fully optimize opportunities in value addition, manufacturing, processing and medium and small economic activities. The county head says Uasin Gishu is ready for the business park.

Speaking on Friday while hosting officers from the Ministry of Trade, Investments and Industry (MITI) regarding the start of the project, the Governor said his administration has met all the requirements.

According to a representative from the Ministry, the purpose of the Export Processing Zone ( EPZ) is to have all their operations in one place, adding that they aim to support counties to industrialize for economic growth.

He adds that the Ministry’s agenda is also to see how best to leverage available commodities that can be processed locally, for farmers to get expanded market for their products.

Apart from creating job opportunities, the industrial park will also train residents on their general operations on available opportunities in different sectors. The park will also stimulate the opening up of the town through the expansion of road networks.
