Uasin Gishu County this morning hosted a delegation of potential investors from Chinese companies, mainly from Zhenjiang Municipality in Jiangsu Province.

The delegation began their county tour with a courtesy call to the Deputy Governor’s Office, H.E. Hon. Evans Kapkea. The visit is a follow-up and reconnaissance mission following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Eldoret City and Zhenjiang City as sister cities.

The MoU seeks to strengthen collaboration in cultural exchange, higher education, technology transfer, and the promotion of trade and investment between the two cities.

Addressing the delegation, the Deputy Governor welcomed them and urged Eldoret residents and stakeholders to take advantage of the opportunity and engage with the investors during their stay in Eldoret.

County Secretary Phillip Meli, CECMs Loice Murei, Anthony Sitienei, Eng also attended the meeting. Abraham Serem, Dr. Philip Chebunet, City Board Chair Alice Kositany, several Chief Officers, the City Manager, and other county government officials.
