Uasin Gishu teams made promising advancements on Wednesday, qualifying for the quarter-finals of the Kicosca Games in Kakamega County.
Uasin Gishu ladies’ volleyball team pinned and ensured their Embu counterparts were capped at under 10 in all three sets played on Wednesday.
The defending champs showed where volleyball talent lies when they beat Embu 25-6, 25-1 (yes, 25-1) and 25-4, at the Kicosca Games in Kakamega County. They had defeated Siaya 3-0 in Tuesday’s opener.









A match between Uasin Gishu men and Turkana was rescheduled to Thursday after the latter complained of slippery ground. The two teams were locked horns 1-1 sets in a highly spectated pre-quarters match.
Uasin Gishu pool team has qualified for the quarter-finals after seeing off Bomet 3-1 in a decider cue. The champions face Narok on Thursday morning.
Ajua has also made it to the quarters and clash with Kakamega in their next fixture. Experienced was pivotal as veteran Agwanda’s charges beat Siaya 40-28, Kilifi 40-14 and Embu 40-10 in past matches.
Both the men’s and women’s tug of war were retired from these games at the round of 16 Wednesday pull wars. Both men’s and women’s handball teams fell on Wednesday, not bad for squads making first appearances at the games. Darts were also eliminated in the round of 16.
