UASIN GISHU OFFICIALS PUSHING FOR TIMELY COMPLETION OF MOIBEN CAIPS

The multi-sectoral committee on the County Aggregation and Industrial Park (CAIP) has called for the speedy completion of the multi-million project in Moiben, Moiben Sub-County, following a site review on Thursday.

County Chief Officer for Trade Felix Kimaru and his Roads counterpart Geoffrey Tanui led the inspection exercise, where members assessed the progress of construction and reviewed key implementation milestones.

The officials noted that although the project had initially lagged behind schedule, recent progress was encouraging and urged the contractor to accelerate works to meet the revised timelines.

“We are behind time, but because you have shown that you can now work with speed, we are confident that you will deliver this project in the next few months,” the duo said.

Once complete, the CAIP is expected to serve as a key driver of industrial growth in the region by supporting value addition, enhancing market access for farmers, and creating job opportunities for local communities.

The contractor, in response, affirmed commitment to fast-track the remaining works, assuring the committee that the project will be completed within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining quality standards.

Various Directors from the Departments of Trade and Roads were among the present during the meeting.
