UASIN GISHU GROUPS SHOWCASING REMARKABLE PERFORMANCES AT ONGOING MUSIC AND CULTURAL FESTIVALS

Uasin Gishu County continues to shine in the ongoing 97th edition of the Kenya National Music and Cultural Festivals, with various groups showcasing remarkable performances.

Chief Officer for Culture Eunice Suter, has expressed her gratitude for the outstanding performance of the Uasin Gishu groups.

According to Suter, the county-sponsored groups have already clinched 40 trophies, and they expect to win more before the festivals conclude this week.
Last year, the county group scooped a total of 24 trophies overall.

At mid of the festivals, these 8 Gishu have already surpassed last year’s trophies by 16.

Uasin Gishu County sponsored 10 groups in the event in Voi, Taita-Taveta County, alongside groups from Moi University, the University of Eldoret, Eldoret National Polytechnic and Eldoret KMTC.

“Our teams have displayed exceptional talent and dedication. As the event progresses, we anticipate winning numerous additional trophies,” said CO Suter.

The County of Champions had set its sights on the top one finish in the festivals – after finishing second in the 96th edition.

“We expect to do better than what we did in the years. Our groups have done well,” noted the Chief Officer.

Director of Culture Mohamed Haji among other cultural staff also accompanied the teams in Taita-Taveta.
