UASIN GISHU GETS THE ‘CHAIRMAN OF CHAIRMEN OF MUNICIPALITIES’

Eldoret Municipality Board chair, Julius Kitur, has been elected to head the Urban Boards – a caucus that brings together all the urban management in Kenya.

Mr. Kitur’s election into the helm of the municipality boards comes to affirm his commitment to Eldoret Municipality and a leadership that has seen Eldoret positioning itself as Kenya’s soon-to-be fifth city.

“I am honored to be elected to be the Chair of Chairmen of Urban Boards in Kenya, it’s a win for Uasin Gishu even as we await the City status,” said a happy Kitur.

On his part, the Municipality Manager, Tito Koiyet, congratulated the chair terming him as a go-getter, an inspiration and a great believer in urbanization in Kenya.”

“We a proud of our Board Chair for being Elected to chair the Urban Boards Chairmen. His determination to forge forward in urban management leadership has helped our municipality to get closer to being a City,” said Koiyet.

The Chairmanship position confirms that Eldoret has made big steps in growth to affirm that it is indeed the cheerleader – the City of Champions.
