The County Government of Uasin Gishu has intensified efforts to strengthen project implementation and promote equitable distribution of development projects across all wards.

This follows a project implementation and management meeting chaired by County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Finance and Economic Planning, Micah Rogony, which brought together Sub-County and Ward Administrators to deliberate on the status of flagship, donor-funded and ward-based projects implemented since the 2022/2023 financial year.

Speaking during the meeting, CECM Micah Rogony said the review provided an opportunity to assess the progress and impact of projects at the grassroots, while identifying areas requiring further intervention.

Rogony further highlighted Uasin Gishu’s growing profile as an investment hub, noting that ten Chinese companies have invested in the County, a development he said demonstrates the region’s increasing attractiveness to investors.

Chief Officer for Finance Eliud Kipkorir called on Ward Administrators to identify areas within their respective wards that have not benefited from development projects. He said the information would help guide project prioritisation and ensure that underserved areas are considered in the next financial year.

On stalled projects, Chief Officer for Economic Planning Nixon Cheplong assured Ward Administrators that the County was putting in place plans to facilitate the completion of stalled ward projects, emphasising the need to ensure that ongoing investments are completed and deliver value to residents.

The meeting also provided a platform for County leadership and Ward Administrators to deliberate on project implementation challenges, assess the status of ongoing projects and strengthen coordination in the delivery of development programmes.
