UASIN GISHU COUNTY SECURES 10 AWARDS IN THE ONGOING NATIONAL MUSIC AND CULTURAL FESTIVALS IN MAKUENI

Uasin Gishu County continues to shine in the ongoing 96th edition of the Kenya National Music and Cultural Festivals, with various groups showcasing remarkable performances.

Chief Officer for Gender Social Protection and Culture Eunice Suter, has expressed her impression of the outstanding performance of the Uasin Gishu groups.

According to Suter, these groups have already clinched 10 trophies, and there are expectations of winning more before the conclusion of the festivals later this week.

As part of their support, Uasin Gishu County sponsored six groups representing the county in the event, held in Wote, Makueni County alongside groups from Moi University and the University of Eldoret.

“Our teams have displayed exceptional talent and dedication. As the event progresses, we anticipate winning numerous additional trophies,” said CO Suter.

The County of Champions had set its sights on the top two finish in the festivals – after finishing fourth in the 95th edition.

“We expect to do better than what we did in the last two years. Our groups have done well,” noted the Chief Officer.

Director of Culture Mohamed Haji among other cultural staff also accompanying the teams in Makueni.
