The County Government of Uasin Gishu has successfully concluded a two-day public participation exercise across all 30 wards to prepare the County Fiscal Strategy Paper (CFSP) for the Financial Year 2026/2027.
The exercise, spearheaded by Chief Officer for Economic Planning, Nixon Cheplong, brought together residents, stakeholders, and sector representatives to provide input on priority projects and budget allocations for the coming financial year.
Speaking at the close of the exercise, Mr Cheplong reaffirmed the county’s commitment to inclusive and transparent governance, noting that public views will directly inform revenue projections, sector ceilings, and expenditure priorities. He emphasized that the CFSP is a critical policy document that sets the tone for the annual budget and ensures resources are aligned with the needs of the people.

The FY 2026/2027 CFSP has been aligned with Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii’s Ten Pillars development agenda, focusing on key sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, education, infrastructure, trade, youth and women empowerment, water, digital innovation, environmental sustainability, and good governance.
Residents across the wards called for equitable resource distribution, improved service delivery, and the timely completion of projects. Many also emphasized the need to strengthen own-source revenue collection and enhance accountability in project implementation.
With the public participation phase now complete, the county will consolidate the views and finalize the Fiscal Strategy Paper before submitting it to the County Assembly within the stipulated timelines, paving the way for a people-centered and development-driven budget for FY 2026/2027.
