The establishment of the 64 Ultra-Modern Market is a significant milestone for economic growth and job creation, providing employment opportunities for hundreds of young people across the county.
This initiative aligns with both the Kenya Kwanza agenda and Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii’s Nguzo Kumi plan, which prioritizes youth employment.
On Friday, a team of engineers from the State Department of Housing and Urban Development, accompanied by the Uasin Gishu Trade Department led by Trade Director Isaac Lagat, visited the market to assess its progress.
During the inspection, the delegation expressed concern over the slow pace of construction, urging the contractor to expedite the work to ensure timely completion.

“It has been a year since this project was launched by the President and county leadership. Traders are eager to use it, and we cannot afford further delays,” said Eng. Silas Nyambok, the Project Manager Representative (PMR).
