The primary focus of the meeting was to assess the current state of sports affairs within the region and to devise strategic plans for the implementation of a county-sponsored marathon.

The stakeholders actively contributed their insights and expertise on critical elements such as event date and name besides community engagement.

Renowned for its rich sporting heritage, Uasin Gishu is affectionately referred to as the ‘County of Champions,’ due to the massive impact brought by sports men and women.

The forthcoming marathon presents an exciting opportunity for emerging talents to showcase their skills on a global stage, while also serving as a platform for community cohesion and cultural celebration.
