PRESIDENT WILLIAM RUTO GROUNDBREAKS THE CONSTRUCTION OF ELDORET 64 ULTRA-MODERN MARKET

President William Samoei Ruto, on Tuesday, took charge of a momentous groundbreaking ceremony for the Eldoret 64 ultramodern market that is aimed at transforming the trading landscape in the region creating a myriad of job opportunities for the local community.

The centrepiece of the market development is a six-storey building that will provide a spacious and modern setting for over 10,000 people including traders and customers.

With ample space and improved facilities, this new market is set to become a hub for economic activities, attracting both local and international investors.

President Ruto said that the significance of this project goes beyond providing space for traders.

He said that the project is expected to have a ripple effect on the local economy, boosting various sectors and benefiting approximately 3,000 individuals through job creation.

This will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the livelihoods of many families in Eldoret and its surrounding areas.

The market will not only be a place for buying and selling goods but will also serve as a platform for entrepreneurs to showcase their products and services.”

According to the president, the Eldoret market project aligns with his administration’s agenda of promoting economic growth and development in the country.

The President commended the collaboration and support from the County Government, investors, and the community, stating that their combined efforts and vision have made this groundbreaking ceremony a reality. This marks the start of a new era for Eldoret and its local economy.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, in his address to the attendees, praised the initiative as a praiseworthy step towards empowering local entrepreneurs and generating much-needed job opportunities.

He emphasized the significance of backing the President’s economic development vision, urging Kenyans to exercise patience and allow him the necessary time to fulfil his promises.

Governor Jonathan Bii expressed appreciation to the President for his dedication to regional development.

He highlighted the government’s intentions to enhance the beauty of the nearby Sosiani River, which plays a vital role in preserving the local ecosystem and creating a more appealing and environmentally friendly atmosphere for both residents and visitors.
