PRESIDENT RUTO LAUNCHES AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROJECT IN UASIN GISHU

His Excellency President William Ruto on Tuesday launched the Affordable Housing Project in Uasin Gishu County which will improve the living standards of the residents in informal settlements and create job opportunities for the youth.

In his speech, the President reiterated his commitment to ensure his promise of having 250,000 units every year is achieved.

“As I promised during my campaigns that my government will construct 250,000 units each year, today I lay a foundation stone to start a journey that will see 2500 units up from the original 1508 units here in Pioneer and 220 units in Kidiwa then later we shall start another 200 units in AMS in Moiben, Kimumu Ward,” said the President.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua appreciated the County Government for availing land to pave way for the affordable Housing.

Uasin Gishu Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii, EGH on his part noted that the nguzo Kumi blueprint is taking shape.

“In my Nguzo Kumi on Housing and Urban Development, I pledged to ensure better housing and today we are launching the affordable Housing project,” said the Governor.

The president later launched the construction of the iconic 64 market which will be an economic hub for both local and international investors.
