MAINSTREAMING OF CLIMATE CHANGE ACTIVITIES IN UASIN GISHU COUNTY

Governor Bii’s Administration is fully committed to supporting climate change activities within the county and building resilient counties.

This was noted by the County Executive Committee Member for Water, Irrigation, Sanitation, Energy, Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change Dr. Sam Kotut as he addressed the members of the County Climate Change Steering Committee during their ongoing capacity-building exercise.

This was affirmed by the CECM for Finance and Economic Planning Micah Rogony as he pledged his docket full support that will see the Financing Locally Led Climate Action (FLLoCA) program succeed.

“This workshop is timely for us and it’s our mandate to see it succeed 100 per cent and see livelihoods transformed in our county,” added Rogony.

“The integration of climate change activities in the County Integrated Development Plan underscores Governor Bii’s dedication to tackling climate change issues,” added the CECM Agriculture Mr Edward Sawe.

Key climate change stakeholders present included the Chief Officer Energy, Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change Mary Kerich, County Solicitor Boaz Kimeli, County Attorney Stephen Lel, Director of Finance Silas Ronoh, the fund administrator in the committee and the Steering Committee members.
