HEALTHCARE PARTNERSHIPS KEY IN TACKLING HEALTHCARE ISSUES, GOVERNOR BII

Uasin Gishu Governor, Dr. Jonathan Bii, on Monday emphasized the importance of partnerships in driving healthcare within the region stressing the need for increased focus on Promotive and Preventive activities to address the rising challenges posed by communicable diseases and the escalating mental health issues in the county.

The County boss made the call on Tuesday while closing a two-day workshop that begun on Monday organized by the Department of Health Services.

“Healthcare partnerships are essential in tackling healthcare issues that the county alone may struggle to address effectively,” said the Governor.

Governor Bii reiterated his government’s commitment to prioritizing and enhancing access to Promotive and Preventive health services to not only safeguard the well-being of the county residents but also ensuring the overall health and wellness of the community.

Health County Executive Committee Member, Dr. Abraham Serem, noted the importance of promoting environmental health and integrating surveillance and response mechanisms to enhance public health measures.

Chief Officers Dr. Joyce Sang(Clinical services) and Dr. Paul Wangwe(Promotive and Preventive services) who were present reiterated the county’s commitment in incorporating key healthcare stakeholders towards advancing healthcare initiatives and addressing health challenges.
