HEALTH DEPARTMENT HOLDS 3-DAY SECTOR WORKING GROUP MEETING TO IDENTIFY KEY PRIORITY AREAS FOR IMPLEMENTATION

In a bid to enhance the county’s healthcare sector, the Department of Health Services has convened a three-day sector working group meeting to identify key priority areas for effective budgeting and implementation.

Addressing the participants, Economic Planning Chief Officer CPA Victorine Kapkiai said that one of the main focal points of the sector working group meeting was the budget process where she urged the participants to engage in intensive discussions on how to allocate funds efficiently and effectively to address the pressing healthcare needs of the residents.

According to Promotive and Preventive Health Chief Officer Dr. Paul Wangwe, there is a need to encompass deliberations on sector priorities by identifying and assessing the most critical areas that require immediate attention and intervention.

“By prioritizing these sectors, the Department of Health aims to channel resources to areas that will have the maximum impact on improving the overall healthcare system,” said Dr Wangwe.

According to Clinical Services Chief Officer Dr. Joyce Sang, the sector working group meeting served as an important platform for the department to engage in constructive discussions, share insights, and collectively contribute to the improvement of the healthcare system.

“With the identification of key priority areas and the implementation strategies developed, the department will be equipped to address the County’s healthcare challenges effectively and efficiently,” said Dr Sang.

Present were Directors Charles Ruto(Planning and Budgeting) and Dr Sarah Kipkulei (Planning and Administration Health).
