GOVERNOR BII INSPECTS AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROJECT

His Excellency Hon Jonathan Chelilim Bii (PhD), E.G.H on Thursday afternoon toured the pioneer estate where the affordable Housing Project is ongoing.

The project which will have over 1508 housing units is expected to be completed in two years.

During his inspection, Dr. Bii assured the previous tenants they would be given priority after the houses are complete.

“The Kenya Kwanza Government led by Dr. William Ruto pledged to construct 250,000 units every year for the affordable Housing Project.”

“…in Uasin Gishu, we have started with 200 units in Kidiwa, 1508 units here in Pioneer and 205 units expected to kick off at AMS, this will go a long way to improving the living standards of our people in the informal settlements and create employment opportunities to our youths as outlined in the Nguzo Kumi,” said the Governor.

“We appreciate our previous tenants who embraced wholeheartedly the project and we shall consider them as the first tenants when the project is done,” said the Area Member of County Assembly Hon. Amos Kiptanui.

Dr. Janeth Kosgey, the County Executive for Lands Housing Physical Planning and Urban Development, said: “We are glad the project is progressing well, we expect it to end within 24 months.”

During the inspection tour, the Governor was accompanied by Eng. Joseph Lagat, CECM for Roads and Transport, and Julius Koech, the Chief Officer for Housing and Urban Development, among other County officials.
