GOVERNOR BII EMBARKS ON INSPECTION OF ROAD PROJECTS ACROSS ALL WARDS

After meeting all staff under the Department of Roads, Transport and Public Works to strategize on the implementation of projects, Uasin Gishu Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii Chelilim, E.G.H, is hitting the ground running to inspect ongoing road projects across all Wards.

While on a development tour of projects in Ainabkoi/Olare ward, Ainabkoi Sub, and also Kesses Sub Counties recently, the County head emphasized his commitment to ensuring all roads are in good order as a way of uplifting agriculture, boosting trade, and enhancing job creation.

Governor Dr. Bii inspected the progress made in the upgrade of a road linking Chebinyiny, Chelelek, and Milimani areas in Olare/Ainabkoi Ward.

“This project aims, among other economic purposes, to improve livelihoods and for posterity, “Governor Dr Bii said.

The County Executive Committee Member of Roads Eng. Joseph Lagat says the department played a pivotal role in development last year by accomplishing 816 km of access roads, graveling and compacting 409 km, opening 76 km of new roads, and installing 272 culverts for improved drainage.

“The ongoing downpours this season will not stop us, we will be on the ground as a team working closely with members of the county assembly to finish ongoing projects, “Eng. Lagat pledged.

C.E.C.M Eng Lagat adds that after achieving their target of grading 800 kilometers last year, their focus under the Nguzo Kumi agenda on infrastructure development this year is a target of grading about 1200 kilometers and gravel 600 kilometers.
