GENDER POLICY TECHNICAL COMMITTEE HOLD MEETING AHEAD OF COUNTYWIDE PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

The Gender Policy Technical Committee responsible for developing Gender policy on Tuesday held a meeting to organise a public participation drive in all 30 wards across the County.

The technical bench comprises of Department of Gender and Community Development, Rural Women Peace Link, State Department for Gender and Affirmative Action, NORTA, Kerio Rights Organisation, Reprodrive and National Council of Churches Kenya, who are also the official partners in the development of the Gender policy.

Already, the committee has engaged key stakeholders on the document and it’s now planning to engage residents through public participation.

The Committee adheres to the roadmap and timelines, the policy document is expected to be launched and operationalized at the end of this year.

Also present during the meeting were Director for Gender and Community Development Joywin Sang, Peter Ruto (Social Protection), Deputy Directors Gender and Community Development Esther Serem, Kimingi Wainaina and Betsy Chepkemboi.
