The County Department of Youth Affairs and Sports has partnered with the Kenya Football Federation (FKF) to revive the highly anticipated Governor’s Cup Football Tournament.
Spearheaded by Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii Chelilim, the tournament aligns with his vision to empower the youth and create opportunities for them to monetize their sporting talents.

This year, the winning team will take home a cash prize of Ksh 500,000.
In a recent meeting with FKF officials, the Department discussed and finalized the technical rules that will govern the tournament, which is set to kick off soon.
The meeting was chaired by the Chief Officer for Youth and Sports, CPA Victorine Kapkiai, and attended by the Director for Sports, Henry Mukolwe, and Leah Malot.
The tournament will start at the Ward level, progress to the Sub-County level, and culminate in the County Championship. The top four teams at each stage will receive awards and recognition.
