END OF AN ERA: KIPLOMBE RESIDENTS COME TO CLOSURE OF 48YEARS LAND TUSSLE WITH KDF

It’s been 48 years of unresolved land tussle between the Kenya Defence Forces and the residents of Kiplombe ward ,Turbo Sub-County. Today marked an end of an era as the Defence Cabinet Secretary Mr. Aden Duale outlined an amicable solution to give titles to the residents while KDF protects its boundaries and ensure that they keep a peaceful coexistence with the neighbourhood.

Hon. Aden Duale , reflecting on the years of conflicts that the residents have endured said that, the President’s intention is to see solutions to such issues resolved immediately for peaceful coexistence of his people.

“We are here to assure the people of Kiplombe that the journey of preparing the titles has officially started and this the president himself is keen on the process. I want to ask the residents to refrain from cartels and Land grabbers claiming to have the titles for this land. We have agreed as the Defence Forces that we shall resolve all land disputes with our neighbours at Uasin-Gishu, Isiolo, Marsabit and other areas where we have our Baracks and Military installations, ” said Hon. Duale.

H.E Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim, who was elated by the turn of events, said that he was grateful to see the successful discussions that started in Nairobi, now bore good results at Kiplombe grounds where hundreds of wananchi turned up for discussions with the leaders.

“This has been long coming. I am glad that we have finally won and wananchi are going to receive their titles in a few months. We take pride in our KDF, we need to enjoy the harmony we previously had with them. As explained by the representatives from the nine farms, acquisition of the titles will guarantee them development and good livelihood, ” said H.E Chelilim

Principal Secretary for Lands Hon Nickson Korir Generali, Hon. Peter Mariru (Defense)Senator Uasin-Gishu Hon Jackson Mandago, MP Turbo Hon. Janet Sitienei, County Commissioner Dr Eddyson Nyale, CECM Lands Dr. Janeth Kosgei, among other senior leaders were in attendance at the public baraza held at Kiplombe grounds.
