EFFECTIVE REHABILITATION OF DAMAGED ROADS AND REPAIR OF DRAINAGE SYSTEMS

County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Roads, Dr. Abraham Serem, together with Chief Officer Geoffrey Tanui, on Wednesday led the cleaning of clogged drainage systems and the opening of silted culverts in the Betafarm area of Kimumu Ward, while also inspecting key infrastructure projects in Tapsagoi Ward.

These include the grading and gravelling of the Mwisho wa Forest–Chebarus–Sugoi road, construction of the Kenduywa–Jeremiah Box Culvert, and the Murgor–Tuigoi Bridge.

Dr. Serem emphasized that the county’s swift intervention to rehabilitate roads and restore drainage systems damaged by recent heavy rains is aligned with Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii’s directive to deliver people-centered services under Nguzo Kumi, particularly Pillar Six, which focuses on infrastructure development to enhance livelihoods.

“Our governor is deeply committed to addressing the real needs of our people and offering sustainable solutions. Kimumu is among the priority areas that require well-structured drainage and sewer systems. However, I urge residents to be responsible and report anyone found dumping waste into the drainage channels, as such actions cause avoidable blockages,” said Dr. Serem
