DESIGN FOR ELDORET STATE-OF-THE-ART MARKET UNVEILED

Uasin Gishu Governor H.E Jonathan Bii, EGH on Wednesday hosted officials from the State Department of Housing and Urban Development on the unveiling of the proposed design for Eldoret town’s state-of-the-art market.

The design which was presented by the Secretary of Urban and Metropolitan Development, Eng. Benjamin Njenga showcased a seven-storey building which will house basement parking, a dispensary, cold rooms, daycare facilities, and lactation rooms, among other key facilities.

According to Governor Bii, the development marks a significant achievement for traders noting that it will offer spaces to more than 3,000 people and create job opportunities for another 3,000 people.

“As a County, we eagerly anticipate the groundbreaking ceremony slated to take place by the end of this year,” said Bii.

Deputy Governor, Eng. John Barorot, County Commissioner, Dr. Eddyson Nyale, MCAs; Hon. Mary Goretti (Kipsomba), and Hon. Hillary Kipchumba (Moiben), County Executive Committee Member for Trade Martha Cheruto, Dr Sam Kotut (Water), Dr Abraham Serem, various Chief Officers Directors Traders, other county officials were among present during the meeting.
