If you can measure, you can manage it well. These were the sentiments of County Executive Committee Member for Water, Irrigation, Sanitation, Energy, Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change Dr. Sam Kotut on Tuesday in his office.
Dr. Kotut said this as he held a meeting with officers from his department to strategize on the best ways to implement projects under his docket for the residents to benefit.
He urged the engineers to work closely with the Area Members of the County Assembly to identify projects that have an impact and that target more households.
The CECM further noted that the energy section is a crucial component in lighting households across the county.
“Together with Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation, we are working to provide lighting across the county through transformer maximization and installation of new ones,” noted Kotut adding that priority will be given to areas that completely lack electricity.
“Our work is to serve the residents of Uasin Gishu. Let us do our best to implement projects that will transform their livelihoods,” noted CO Water Elijah Koech.
The Chief Officer of Energy, Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change Ms Mary Kerich added that the Financing Locally Led Climate Action (FLLoCA) projects are ongoing and the various relevant sectors are out in the field working on the Bill of Quantities for the climate change adaptation and mitigation projects to be implemented across the county.
