The County Government of Uasin Gishu is edging closer to signing a Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) with the Women Enterprise Fund to empower women entrepreneurs across the county.

While hosting a representative of WEF on Wednesday, Director for Enterprise Development Fund, Kipleting Mengich flanked by his counterpart for Trade Isaac Lagat, said enhancing the creation of stable income sources and jobs for women through enterprise development remains a key objective.

Some of the proposed areas of collaboration including mobilization and sensitization of women on opportunities available, building capacity of women in different areas of value chains, training on financial literacy, market support and linkages were also discussed.

WEF’s mandate is to empower women through entrepreneurship and strategic partnerships to bring a change in the mindset by leveraging the ability and opportunities that come with partners’ skills and technology.
