COUNTY URGES SMEs TO REGISTER THEIR BUSINESSES FOR EASE ACCESS TO CREDIT

Women engaging in Small and Medium Enterprises(SMEs) have been urged to register their businesses inorder access cheap credit.

Speaking on Friday during the celebration of the 2024 International Women’s Day organized by Stima Sacco, the County Executive Committee Member for Trade Industrialization Tourism Cooperatives and Enterprise Development Martha Cheruto said registered businesses can easily access huge funds from credit institutions.

“You need to go out of your way and pursue what you think will make you economically stable and take advantage of the infrastructural expansion in our town that seeks to give room for more investments.”

….we are pushing for export businesses through the expansion of the Eldoret International airport among other available infrastructure. Let us put our savings into use by investing in the upcoming opportunities,” said Cheruto.

The event, themed; Invest In Women; Accelerate Progress focuses on addressing economic disempowerment as well as celebrating the progress made towards achieving gender equality and women’s empowerment.

Cheruto also called on the women to ensure that girls are mentored on the importance of pursuing education to realize their dreams.
