Various Sub-Committee chairs on the conferment of Eldoret City on Friday presented activities that urgently need to be done in readiness for the conferment including beautification and installation of roundabouts, traffic lights, billboards, city clocks, labelling of streets, venue identification, communication and branding and publicity, trade and commerce among others.
The Sub-Committee chairs, CECMs Martha Cheruto, Sam Kotut and Anthony Sitienei made the presentations noting the need to quickly look into implementing the said areas as soon as possible.
This week, the County Government engaged various stakeholders from across the sectors on a consultative forum to prepare for the confirmation of Eldoret’s city status.
The forum gathered input and insights from various perspectives to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive preparation process for Eldoret’s city status confirmation.
The committee chair and also the CECM for Roads Eng Joseph Lagat together with his Co-chair Dr Janet Kosgei(CECM Lands) maintained the need for effective coordination between the county government, national government agencies, and private sector partners to facilitate the transition process to realize a colourful event effectively.
Among the topics discussed during the engagement included infrastructure development, urban planning, economic growth strategies, governance structures, security, and environmental development.
