COUNTY STRENGTHENS HEALTH PARTNERSHIPS WITH USAID

The County Government of Uasin Gishu is keen on forging and strengthening partnerships to improve community health outcomes.

This was revealed by the County Executive Committee Member for Health Services Dr Abraham Serem when he hosted a delegation from USAID to discuss expanded strategies aimed at elevating the quality of healthcare within the County.

During the courtesy call, Dr. Serem emphasized the critical areas that require collaborative efforts. “Together we are focused on developing a robust Human Resource for Health (HRH) framework, conducting performance reviews, and expanding our primary care networks, because these initiatives are essential to creating a more efficient and effective healthcare system,” he noted.

Dr. Serem expressed his gratitude to USAID for their engagement, urging them to assist in rolling out the Social Health Authority and the digitization of services across the health facilities.

“The incorporation of advanced technologies and streamlined processes is expected to enhance service delivery and accessibility for residents,” said Dr Serem.

Additionally, the CECM addressed pressing health concerns, particularly the rising cases of cancer and kidney diseases, urging that these challenges be tackled through a comprehensive private-sector support plan.

“Uasin Gishu is destined as a medical tourism hub and we must work together to address these critical health issues that are affecting our community, ” he stressed.

Present were Director of Health Services Dr Evans Kiprotich and Principal Programs Officer Johannes Mosbei.
