COUNTY, KTB DISCUSSION ON MARKETING STRATEGIES AHEAD OF DEVOLUTION CONFERENCE

County Executive Committee Member for Tourism, Martha Cheruto, together with her counterpart for Devolution, Elijah Kosgei, on Friday hosted a delegation from Kenya Tourism Board where they discussed ways of marketing the county ahead of the devolution conference.

The meeting comes a day when the county together with KTB also played host to North Rift Economic Bloc (NOREB) CECMs, Chief Officers and Directors in charge of Tourism and Wildlife for a consultative meeting dubbed Destination Marketing Series, County Edition.

During the meeting, CECM Cheruto noted the importance of marketing the county ahead of the conference asking the branding agency to incorporate all necessary sectors to see the agenda easily achieved.

“Cutting from accommodations, tourism attraction sites and all other forms of tourism, there is a need to work with speed to realize both our aims before the event’s D-Day,” said Cheruto.

On his part, CECM Kosgei challenged KTB to market the county using agricultural produce since the county is the country’s food basket.

KTB Manager business development Muriuki Murithi, Chief Officers Geoffrey Tanui(Trade) Mark Some (Administration) Tourism Director Margaret Ayabei were present.
