COUNTY INSPECTS WATER PROJECTS IN MOIBEN SUB-COUNTY

The Department of Water, Irrigation, and Sanitation in Uasin Gishu County has been working on several water projects to ensure sufficient water supply to the grassroots and residents of the county.

Recently, the Director of Water, Mr.Stephen Barno, conducted an inspection of ongoing and completed water projects in Moiben and Karuna/Meibeki Wards of Moiben Sub-County.

Among the projects that were inspected is Kilima Water Project which is currently in progress. The project includes the construction of a sump, the installation of a solar panel, and the identification of communal water points. Once completed, it will benefit 167 households, a primary school, and cattle dips in the area.

Zeddy Kemboi, a resident of Torochmoi Sub-location and an assistant chief, expressed appreciation for Governor Jonathan Bii’s administration for implementing the water project, which will greatly benefit the community.

Mosop water project was also inspected and it is expected to serve 330 households, Mosop primary school, a cattle dip, and Mosop dispensary.

The Kap Gideon water project involves the drilling of a borehole, the installation of solar panels, fencing, piping, a steel tank, and communal water taps. This infrastructure makes it easier for the residents of Kap Gideon to access water.

The Chewirwir water project includes the construction of a pump house, fitting of solar panels, pipeline, elevated steel tank, and communal water points. This project aims to provide water to 450 households, as well as Uswo primary and secondary schools.

These water projects signify the county government’s commitment to ensuring that communities have access to clean and reliable water sources by investing in water infrastructure, thus, improving the quality of life and promoting development in the region.
